Yesterday, Bethesda announced Hearthfire, the latest DLC for Skyrim. It looks to be a charming little DLC pack, but there's just one problem: Xbox 360 owners will be getting Hearthfire next week, but PS3 owners are still without Dawnguard, Skyrim's first DLC. This understandably has some PS3 players wondering if Bethesda delayed Dawnguard on PS3 so it could finish up work on Hearthfire and get it out the door quickly.

Windows Phone 8 launch date tipped for October 29

A tipster with information on Microsoft and the launch of their next-generation mobile operating system Windows Phone 8 has let it be known that October 29th will be the day. This information comes from ZDNet where they've gotten word from this anonymous source familiar with the matter that October will be one massively important month for Microsoft. October 25th appears to still be the day that Windows 8 will be launching, but now it'll be coming with a launch of Surface RT as well. Right after this, on October 29th, Windows Phone 8 will pop up as well - and of course October 30th is the start of Microsoft's Build 2012 conference too!

Google looking to sell Motorola’s set-top box unit

Google bought a lot of stuff when it purchased Motorola Mobility, but it turns out that the company isn't interested in some of it. Bloomberg reports that Google is looking to sell off Motorola's Home Business unit, which sells set-top boxes to cable providers. Google doesn't want anything to do with set-top boxes, it seems, as the company has reportedly hired Barclays Plc to handle the sale.

Google launches new Google+ features for businesses

With a number of business "going Google," the massive search company has launched the first set of Google+ features for businesses. With this "initial set" of features now available, Google is letting all Google Apps customers get an early look at them in a "full preview mode." This preview allows businesses already using Google Apps to try out these Google+ features through the end of 2013 for free, with Google working to improve its offerings during that time.

TiVo has finally given a release date for its incoming Steam transcoder, which was unveiled back in May. Pre-orders opened up for a select few yesterday, and the company says that the device will be arriving on September 6. When it launches, it will set you back $129.99, which doesn't seem to bad for what it does.
