Apple has been embracing tech for a long time and a new app that Apple Store workers use in the store helps them to find exactly where a shopper is that needs help and to find the person in store to pick up a purchase. The app is used by the store workers running on iPod touch devices. The company has been one of the more innovative retailers out there in any market and the new app continues that tradition.

Apple Stores use cool tech to find shoppers needing assistance
Galaxy Nexus volume bug fix released
Samsung and Google may not have released their fix for the Galaxy Nexus volume flaw yet, but that hasn't stopped the Android modding community from addressing the problem itself. A patch said to be the official release to address the problem - which sees volume fluctuate when the 2G 900MHz band is used - has been released by MoDaCo, ahead of Samsung's own schedule which is believed to have temporarily stopped shipments.

$2m AT&T hack funded terrorists
Cash scooped from hacked AT&T business accounts was used to fund terrorist attacks in Asia, local law enforcement has revealed, with four recently arrested hackers believed to have connections to Al Qaeda and the 2002 Bali bombing. The scheme has been operating since 2009, the Philippines Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) believe, while the FBI told the New York Times this weekend that it is cooperating with local police. Although AT&T has not confirmed any figures, reports suggest it has cost the carrier almost $2m to refund affected customers.

What looks to be the first video promo for Acer's new Iconia Tab A200 tablet has leaked, billing the Android slate as an ideal way to consume and share multimedia. Yet to be officially announced, though spotted in a user-profile among the support data on Acer's site, the A200 is expected to be a budget tablet still running NVIDIA's Tegra 2 rather than the newer quadcore Tegra 3 chipset.

Maybach axed as 2013 Mercedes S-class takes the wheel
Mercedes will axe its luxury Maybach line in 2013, insiders in the company have revealed, with a new S-class expected to sate the needs of wealthy road users. "It is better to cut our losses with Maybach" a supposedly high-level Mercedes-Benz source told Autoweek, "than to continue into an uncertain future with a brand that has failed to live up to original sales expectations."

Sony and Hitachi 4-inch iPhone 5 LCDs shipping say insiders
Whispers of a larger touchscreen for the iPhone 5 continue, with Hitachi and Sony tipped to have already begun shipping 4-inch LCD panels for a new Apple iOS device. Although the supply chain sources speaking Japanese site Macotakara did not specifically confirm that the 4-inch display is for the sixth-gen iPhone, the suggestion fits with leaks earlier in the month.
HTC: 2012 “focus on the product” to avoid Nokia fate
HTC has insisted it is not another Nokia, relying on a "focus on the product" in early 2012 including "some worldwide flagship products" to restore its position in the smartphone market. Despite investors' negative reaction to HTC slashing its Q4 forecast last week, CFO Winston Yung is still confident the company can turn things around; "I don't think it's so serious" the finance chief told Reuters, suggesting that both LTE devices for the US and other products for the international market were on the cards.

Samsung GT-S7500 image leaked
There appears to be a new Android powered smartphone on the way from Samsung, one so small it'd have to be a mid-range phone, and with a button in the center front so large it'd have to be internationally bound. The only image of the device so far is very low-resolution, so it's difficult to determine it's exact dimensions. Other than the model number, there's not much shown of the new phone.

ARM launches toolkit for Android – Promises better performance than Java code
Today, ARM announced their new Android development toolkit, Development Studio 5 (DS-5) Community Edition (CE). The free software will let Android developers create applications that can run up to four times faster than Java code on Android. What makes it unique compared to the SDK and NDK development tools is that DS-5 CE will help developers to be more energy efficient in terms of performance.

Use Siri to control your Plex media
You don’t need wait for Apple’s much rumored TV set to use iOS 5's most talked about feature, Siri, to control your media with Plex. There is a new tool available called SiriProxy that was created to control a thermostat, and has also been adapted to start cars and control other apps. SiriProxy will take your voice commands before they reach Apple's servers and use them in other ways.

HTC: Quietly Blundering
To say HTC is having a bad month is an understatement: share price ditching, outlook slashed and reeling from an embarrassing and unexpected defeat by Apple in the patent courts. The company that once led the smartphone segment has found its “Quietly Brilliant” message struggling to be heard above the crowd. The potential collapse of the S3 Graphics deal is just the latest stage of the company’s ebbing momentum, though it can’t blame the USITC entirely for investors’ loss of faith. HTC lost its common Sense some time ago.
