BBC iPlayer app for iPad hits Europe in first stage of global trial

The BBC has launched a European version of its iPlayer streaming TV and radio app for iPad, offering subscription-based access to new and archive content from the network. Initially released as a pilot in eight western European countries, though expected to be pushed globally by BBC Worldwide over time, subscriptions to the BBC iPlayer app are priced at €6.99 a month (or €49.99 for an annual subscription).

The last time I mentioned cameras in space was when an Italian astronaut had to let a bunch of his camera gear burn up on re-entry. I thought that none of the camera gear came back to earth once it went into space, but apparently, some of NASAs gear does.

When I was little, I had a Casio keyboard that had lights above each key. You could learn to play a bunch of song by hitting the keys when those lights glowed. I thought that was the most awesome keyboard ever. A new keyboard has surfaced called the Piano Apprentice from ION Audio and it reminds me a lot of that keyboard from back in the day. Best Buy Insignia TV with TiVo coming soon

Back in March, I mentioned that a new TiVo HDTV wearing the Insignia Best Buy store brand logo was in testing. Since then we haven't heard much about the TV until now. ZatzNotFunny has landed some photos of the packaging of the TV and that box has given away some of the details on the set and it sounds interesting. The TV is expected to hit Best Buy stores any day now for people to purchase.

Nintendo 3DS price slashed to $170

Nintendo has slashed the price of the 3DS glasses-free 3D games console, less than four months after the handheld went on sale in the US, bringing the price down to $169.99. Launched in late March at $249.99, from August 12 you'll save $80: money that Nintendo is hoping you'll spend on one of its flagship games released in the run up to the holiday season, Star Fox 64 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 and Kid Icarus.
