According to a Bloomberg source, the two companies have been in talks and are ready to finalize the deal as soon as this week. It's believed that they are waiting for both companies to announce their quarterly earnings results before they announce the partnership.

HTC Chief Innovation Officer Horace Luke Resigns for Personal Reasons

It was let known today that on the date of April 30th, 2011, HTC's Chief Innovation Officer Horace Luke resigned from the company for personal reasons. Luke had been with the company since November of 2006 at which time he had just left his position as Creative Director at Microsoft. At that time, HTC was little more than a newly emerging Taiwan-based smartphone vendor - now it's one of the most prominent names in the smartphone business worldwide, tending to both Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform and Google's mobile operating system Android. A statement was sent out in which "personal reasons" have been cited as the cause for Luke's parting ways with the business.

Remember all the way back this morning when we reported on the leaked version of the official Facebook app for iPad? Turns out the folks at Facebook were none too happy about that leak and have taken some action. This leaked version was available to jailbroken iPad units (jailbroken being the iOS version of "rooted" for those of you on the other side of the spectrum, all of these terms essentially meaning "hacked.") This Monday afternoon, however, the fun was fully over (at least for the time being) as Facebook officials blocked logins through the app, so says CPU Engineering Undergrad Marvin Bernal.

AT&T Confirms Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update For 2011 Lineup

AT&T had some good news today for its Android phone customers who have been eagerly awaiting a platform update. The carrier confirmed that all of its 2011 Android handsets will soon be getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which has so far only been available on the recently launched HTC Status. The updates, however, will not be rolled out altogether, with one kicking off today and others within the coming weeks.
