HTC has revealed plans to open a chain of retail stores in China, cutting the ribbon on the flagship location earlier this week. Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 promo: Our Win7 tablet is as obvious as a hammer [Video]

A video demo of Fujitsu's Stylistic Q550 tablet has been released, and the company seems pretty keen to differentiate the slate from other Windows 7 machines. According to director of mobile product Meinolf Althaus, Fujitsu's custom UI attempts to mimic the usability of a hammer: not in that you have to thump it, but in that you automatically recognize how to interact with the tablet, rather than needing to remember what does what.

Samsung hits all-time record revenue in 2010; dual-core Galaxy S2 & multiple Galaxy Tabs incoming

Samsung has announced its 2010 financial figures, and there are strong results for the company's mobile business. Mobile device sales in Q4 2010 topped 80.7m, up 17-percent compared to Q4 2009, with 280m sales for the whole of 2010. Samsung confirms that a dual-core Galaxy S replacement with a Super AMOLED Plus display (believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S2, debuting at MWC 2011 next month) will launch in the first half of 2011, while also announcing that it "will complement its Galaxy Tab with a range of devices to optimally meet various user needs."

As tipped earlier this week, News Corp's The Daily digital-only publication is now set to launch on February 2 2011 in New York, with CEO Rupert Murdoch joining Apple VP of internet services Eddy Cue on stage. The iPad-specific newspaper is expected to make use of a new subscriptions API developed by Apple, which will allow for regular delivery of new content and periodic billing.

RIM's 2011 CDMA device roadmap has leaked, bringing with it details of a renewed push for the Canadian company into touchscreen handsets. According to what looks like a RIM presentation passed to CrackBerry, the BlackBerry PlayBook release in Q2 2011 will be shortly followed by the all-touch BlackBerry Monaco, a 1.2GHz CDMA/UMTS World Phone hybrid with a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen and 5-megapixel camera with flash.

Samsung has announced its newest sales figures for the Galaxy Tab, and the big news is that 2m of the 7-inch slates have been sold in the three months it has been available. The new milestone follows Samsung's announcement of 1m Galaxy Tab sales back in early December; the Android tablet is available in 94 countries on around 200 different carriers and as an unlocked device.
