Midland Radio Sub Zero and BT SKI headphones for cold climates surface

Midland Radio has announced new headphones that are aimed at the user that spends a lot of time outside in the cold and wants to listen to their music. The new headsets include the SubZero and the BT SKI. The SubZero headset looks like a set of ear warmers, but the things are actually corded headphones that can connect to your iPhone or anything else that uses a 3.5mm headphone port. India starts BlackBerry investigation over RIM security denial

RIM's denial earlier this week that it had installed a messaging monitoring system at the behest of the Indian government has prompted more BlackBerry confusion, with the statement accused of conflicting with assurances made by RIM execs earlier in December 2010. According to information passed to The Economic Times, RIM's VP of industry, government and university relations had told the Indian government that monitoring technology to "receive and process via the cloud computing-based system, lawfully intercepted BlackBerry messenger data" had indeed been installed. Myspace facing up to 50% workforce axe tip insiders

Myspace execs are reportedly considering axing up to 50-percent of the struggling social network's workforce, amid drastic cost-cutting measures intended to counter diminishing revenues and traffic growth. According to NetworkEffect's sources, as many as 550 employees could face redundancy should Myspace owner News Corp decide to go ahead with the plan; other strategies include selling on the social network, with both online game company Zynga and private equity buyers both tipped. A new iPhone 4 accessory promises to turn the Apple smartphone into a clinic-quality ECG machine. The iPhonECG is a clip-on case for the handset with a pair of electrodes on the back; paired with the handset via Bluetooth, it sends ECG readings to the custom app. According to the developers, the case and app are expected to come in at under $100 when the iPhonECG reaches the market. More Dell Windows tablet rumors have emerged, this time with DigiTimes describing the company as - along with RIM and the PlayBook - "the most active brand" in the segment. LTE HTC Thunderbolt supposedly detailed: 1.2GHz dual-core & twin 8MP/5MP cameras? [Updated]

The LTE-packing HTC Thunderbolt smartphone will supposedly be seeing a European release as well as availability on Verizon in the US, if a leak supposedly from a German retailer's systems is authentic. According to HTCInside, the Thunderbolt has a 1.2GHz dual-core MSM8960 processor and both 8-megapixel (rear) and 5-megapixel (front) cameras, and is headed to German carriers O2, Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone in 2011. Update: Something to be cautious about: the MSM8960 supposedly found inside the Thunderbolt isn't expected to arrive until 2012. Either the chip has been mis-labeled, or it's a sign that this isn't entirely legit. Read The Full Story

HTC HD2 gets MeeGo 1.1 install

HTC's HD2 has become something of a favorite among smartphone modders; we've already seen the Windows Mobile 6.5 device swap its Microsoft OS for Android and Windows Phone 7, and now it's the turn of MeeGo 1.1. Steve Troughton-Smith spotted that, since the HD2 is relatively similar to the Nexus One in terms of core hardware, it should be possible to tweak the instructions for installing MeeGo on the Googlephone to suit the HTC.
