Sprint BlackBerry Style 9670 Unboxing and Hands-on

Hooray for mail! Today what's arrived is the very shiny clamshell BlackBerry Style 9670, available in steel grey or royal purple. Of course, since I'm in Minneapolis, home of The Purple One himself, Prince, you know that the royal purple is the one that arrived on my doorstep. Below see the unboxing of the fabulously re-usable box with lovely shine-tastic phone and extras inside.

myTouch 4G vs Desire HD benchmarks

myTouch 4G vs Desire HD benchmarks

T-Mobile's myTouch 4G is currently going through the rigors of testing in the run-up to its full review, but preliminary benchmarking is already suggesting that it's the fastest Android smartphone around.  What's curious, however, is the performance difference between the myTouch 4G and another recent HTC smartphone with identical core hardware, the Desire HD we reviewed earlier this week.  On paper, both handsets have the same latest-gen 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor paired with 768MB of RAM; in testing, the myTouch 4G is coming out significantly ahead.

ViewSonic ViewPad 10 launch [Video]

ViewSonic ViewPad 10 launch [Video]

ViewSonic's ViewPad 10 is the bigger, dual-boot sibling to the all-Android ViewPad 7, offering a choice between Android or Windows 7 in one, 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen slate.  Back at IFA 2010 it was still known as the ViewPad 100 and all the company had to show was a rather unstable prototype; now, with the full launch expected on November 15 priced at £449 and with the same trade-in discount scheme as the ViewPad 7, we caught up with the ViewPad 10 to see if its dual-personalities had bedded in.

Panasonic Discontinues Technics Analog Turntables

Panasonic Discontinues Technics Analog Turntables

This is the saddest day ever. Why? Because we just found out that starting a little over a week ago, Panasonic decided to par down and then stop production on SL-1200MK6 analog turntable, the SH-EX1200 analog audio mixer, and RP-DH1200 and RP-DJ1200 stereo headphones due to "challenges in the marketplace." Panasonic issued a statement to The Tokyo Reporter saying: “Panasonic decided to end production mainly due to a decline in demand for these analog products and also the growing difficulty of procuring key analog components necessary to sustain production." Waaah!

Taiwanese Company Proview Sues Apple Over iPad Name Citing Trademark Infringement

Taiwanese Company Proview Sues Apple Over iPad Name Citing Trademark Infringement

The Taiwanese owned company Proview seeks to collect damages in China and in the US (and I'd assume eventually Taiwan) for infringing on their right to the iPad name. Proview is a contract manufacturer of flat screens, one that made an attempt almost 10 years ago to market a tablet computer by the name "I-Pad." But that's not the whole story. Lawsuits being tossed around like candy at a parade! That's what's up!

The Scoop on Microsoft’s 2010 Professional Developer Conference

Welcome to the 2010 Professional Developer Conference, aka PDC, from whens we've got a few bits of info on Windows Phone 7 for you. White iPhone 4 Removed From Apple Website

White iPhone 4 Removed From Apple Website

The white iPhone 4 is a sneaky device. Apple, having shown it off at the beginning of the year and making a countless number of people excited for its release, has repeatedly delayed the iDevice since its announcement. And, with this latest delay under the company's wings, there's speculation that the device not be making it to the market at all. Ever. Of course, there's plenty of reasons why: manufacturers can't get the shades of white to match. Or, the white color causes crazy things to happen when taking a picture. Either way, Apple's suggestion that the white model of the iPhone 4 is hard to manufacture looks to be true. And now, sadly, the white device is missing from Apple's online store altogether.
