Android 2.1 for O2 Dell Streak coming Sept 1st

O2 has apparently confirmed that it will be releasing the Android 2.1 Eclair update for the Dell Streak later this week, with the scheduled September launch of the new firmware taking place on Wednesday 1st.  A bridging release while Dell polish their Android 2.2 Froyo build for the Streak, according to The Really Mobile Project Android 2.1 brings 720p HD video recording, live wallpaper support, native multitouch and speed boosts, among other things.

Geek builds his own Lightsaber from spare parts

When it comes to DIY stuff for geeks much of it tends to center around science fiction films or video games and the weapons that the heroes and villains in the flicks use. Last week I mentioned that one geek had made his own replica weapon from the Mass Effect game. Today we find a replica weapon made by another geek that is a version of one of the most iconic weapons ever to hit the big screen, the lightsaber.
