How the iPad is becoming my new favorite home-entertainment device

How the iPad is becoming my new favorite home-entertainment device

It’s not often that I sing the praises of a single product. Most times, I use several different devices to do what I want. Whether that means listening to music, computing, or watching television, it doesn’t matter. If I want to do it, chances are, several devices will be needed to get the job done.

But as I continue to use my launch-day iPad, it’s becoming clear that all my hopes for an all-in-one device have finally been realized. Apple’s lightweight tablet is quickly becoming my go-to entertainment device for those times when I want to surf the Web, check my e-mail, watch a quick movie, or catch up on a favorite show. It simply provides everything I need in my house in one small package that makes just about everything else unnecessary.

Notion Ink Adam gets blessed, will launch with Android 2.2 Froyo not Gingerbread

It's not often you see a new tablet surrounded by flowers and bearing a pair of bananas and a rose, but Notion Ink are leaving nothing to chance with their Adam slate.  Having recently moved offices to Bangalore, they've kicked off with an Indian "Pooja" ceremony, basically a request for blessing from the Gods for future success.  However, since you can't necessarily rely on a deity when it comes to hardware specifications, there are also a few new tidbits about Adam, Android 3.0 Gingerbread and potential upgrade paths.

Motorola Droid Upgrading to Android 2.2 Next Week

We'll just go ahead and say it: Android 2.2 is just about to be on everything. RAPUDA Robotic Arm Aides Those With Disabilities

RAPUDA Robotic Arm Aides Those With Disabilities

Even if those in the know are constantly watching the next batch of robot announcements to look for any signs of a robotic apocalypse, sometimes we get stories like this one. Where, for the briefest of moments, we realize why some folks out there still think robots may be a source of good in this world. Of course, we know the truth, even if we are pleasantly surprised to see the RAPUDA doing its thing, helping those who need it.

Xtraordinary Adventures Will Take You Into Space for $95,000

Privatized space travel isn't a thing of the future anymore. At least, not as far into the future as it used to be. With air/spacecraft going up into the stratosphere whenever we want them to, soon it won't be just about where you want to fly to, but where in space you want to launch to. (Now we just need destinations up there. Where's our floating islands?) Unfortunately, it's still super expensive to get it done. Even if you take Xtraordinary Adventure's deal.

In today's market, there are plenty of home audio solutions. There's even more that let you plug in your iPod Touch or iPhone. Basically, they're all over the place. And, while we can't say anything really bad about them, because they work just fine (for the most part), we can say that most of them look relatively similar to the other one. Here's the solution to that problem: snowflake speakers.
