Samsung Epic 4G Official for Sprint

, Jun 27th 2010 Discuss [2]

One might imagine that this had come out of left field, but if you'll recall, we've actually seen this phone before. It broke cover thanks to a tipster, and while we had originally put the moniker Galaxy S Pro on it, obviously Sprint and Samsung had a different agenda. Courtesy of Sprint, we've got official word that the Samsung Epic 4G (have to love the new trend, right?) is indeed coming "soon," and it's packing quite a mean punch. Read The Full Story

HTC Wildfire Review

The HTC Wildfire is the company’s second attempt at a budget Android device, its predecessor being the underspecified and relatively unloved Tattoo. Packing the same Sense UI as more expensive siblings like the Legend and Desire, together with a 5-megapixel camera and a multitouch-capable display, does the Wildfire manage to be both affordable and feature-rich? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

HTC Using Super TFT LCD Displays to Reinforce Dwindling Stock

, Jun 25th 2010 Discuss [2]

If you haven't read the review of the Droid Incredible, or the HTC Desire, then we'll add the main draw of those phones right here (even though you should go read them, anyway): Their 3.7-inch AMOLED displays are amazing. Unless you plan on using your device in direct sunlight all the time, AMOLED is definitely one of the best displays out there (yes, Super AMOLED is better). But, it's been rough for HTC to keep their latest AMOLED-toting device in stock, and a lot of that has to do with that screen. Changes are afoot, though, which may help people out there aching to get their hands on the Droid Incredible they've purchased before the end of July. Read The Full Story

IC Social Communicaton Tool Makes Communicating to Loved Ones Easy

, Jun 25th 2010 Discuss [0]

Keeping in touch with people that you know can be pretty easy now-a-days. After all, you probably have at least a couple of devices on you at all times that can get in touch with someone, somewhere at any given moment. But, as technology continues to progress, it may seem like some of the older folks out there are getting left in the dust. And while we know that there's plenty of "old timers" out there that can use today's gadgets just fine, sometimes you just want something simple and intuitive enough to make talking to your grandmother or grandfather uncomplicated. Plastic Logic QUE proReader Delayed Again, Now Canceling Pre-Orders

, Jun 25th 2010 Discuss [1]

The QUE proReader from Plastic Logic has a torrid past. With so many missed delivery dates and delays under their belt, we're not sure if anyone even has them in mind anymore. Today, Plastic Logic came back into the lime light for a minute, but not to talk any kind of good news, unfortunately. What's the deal now? Well, apparently they're pushing back the launch of the QUE proReader again. And, if you've got a pre-order, well. You probably don't anymore. Read The Full Story

Exemode SQ30m Takes the Mini Digital Camera Thing Too Seriously

, Jun 25th 2010 Discuss [6]

Want to find the cheapest, smallest, and probably most effortless camera available? Still on the hunt? Well, here's one you can think about buying, if you're in Japan. You can at least add it to the list of other impossibly small digital cameras out there, that still look like digital cameras, at least. Read The Full Story

iPhone 4 Gets “Will it Blend” Treatment, Has Predictable Outcome [Video]

, Jun 25th 2010 Discuss [2]

Considering all the hub-bub about the iPhone 4, and the amount of coverage it's garnered over the last couple of days has been right in line with all the other previous iPhone launches. But we know not everyone out there are iPhone fans, and maybe this video is your time to point and laugh. (Though, truth be told, there's probably plenty of that happening, anyway.) Thanks to the crazy guys over at Blendtec, we've got some more awesome video of today's awesome tech being blended away into oblivion. And, yes. It will blend. Read The Full Story

Blu-ray 100GB & 128GB BDXL Specification Finalized

, Jun 25th 2010 Discuss [0]

The Blu-ray Disc Association seems to be keeping right on track with those original projections we mentioned back in April. The BDXL specification was originally designed with medical imaging and broadcast elements in mind, specifically, but we imagine that with all of the extra space the BDA is shoving into these discs, plenty of other outlets are going to jump all over it. Nintendo v. Apple

I was at E3 last week (was that just last week?) and attended two separate Nintendo events: the press conference where Nintendo talked about upcoming products, and an Analyst Q&A session where Nintendo executives explained Nintendo’s strategy to a group of mostly financial analysts who looked grossly out of place at E3 (financial analyst types dress much, much better than the average E3 attendee). One of the things that struck me in the press conference is how much Nintendo is competing against Apple in mobile gaming, and one of the things I discovered in the Q&A session is how much alike the two companies are in their approach to product development.

Sprint Android 2.2 update for HTC EVO 4G due “in near future”

, Jun 25th 2010 Discuss [2]

Sprint has confirmed that an update for the HTC EVO 4G is in the works, that will update the WiMAX-capable smartphone to Android 2.2 Froyo as rumored earlier in the week.  The new firmware will bring Flash support to the EVO 4G's browser along with Bluetooth voice dialling and improved Exchange ActiveSync support, as we've seen on other Android 2.2 devices.  Meanwhile, judging by Sprint's phrasing, the EVO 4G won't be the only 2.2 device the carrier has planned.
