Vodafone to sell iPhone in January 2010

Starting January 14th, Vodafone will start selling iPhone in UK. With two years contract and wireless plan that cost £35-a-month, a customer would be able to pickup an iPhone 3G for free. Those who wants the iPhone 3GS, would have to signup for a wireless plan that cost £45-a-month for the 16GB, and £75 a month for the 32GB; same contract length required.

Vodafone limits monthly data transfer to 1GB each month, however it provides unlimited WIFI for its customers. As for users who want to tether their iPhone, Vodafone will charge £5 a month for 500MB data transfer.

Sonic Alert SBZ475ss Analog Alarm Clock wakes heavy sleepers

I have never really had a problem getting out of bed. The Alarm clock wakes me up just fine on low volume settings. I have known some people though who could sleep through a freight train rolling by. For the heavy sleeper a normal alarm may not cut it.

Q-TV 2.1 speaker system hides behind TVs

Most of the HDTVS on the market today are attractive devices that are fairly thin. Many people like to get an entertainment center that is just large enough for the TV to save room. That means there is little room left behind for speakers on the entertainment center.

Chumby Tux: everyone needs a touchscreen penguin

One day we'll stop posting Chumby case-mods, but nothing cheers up a cold Sunday like a touchscreen penguin.  Modder Ankorite took one of the Chumby guts kits from the MAKE store and squeezed it into a penguin Christmas toy, producing a battery-powered widget and internet radio Tux.

Google Nexus One sightings increase; US & Euro orders from January 5th?

Google Nexus One sightings increase; US & Euro orders from January 5th?

The Google Nexus One sightings are getting pretty flagrant now, with lucky testers of the smartphone feeling free to whip them out in public.  Nick Starr has apparently seen three of them today, with two being toted in a Safeway line in San Francisco and another caught on camera in Starbucks.

Meanwhile MoDaCo founder Paul O'Brien is citing "inside info" on a January 5th 2010 release for the Google Nexus One, and the interesting news is that it's not just being pushed out in the US.  He claims would-be European owners of the Android 2.1 device will be able to pick one up on that same date early in the new year too.  No confirmed pricing as yet, however, but O'Brien says "it'll be very competitively priced" but that there'll be "no preorder available".  That seems to suggest - along with the increasingly frequent sightings - that the Nexus One is about ready to hit the virtual shelves.
