HTC HD2 gets video unboxing, stokes lusts

We're still waiting for our HTC HD2 review unit to drop, but somewhere in the world there must be a secret supply of the promising Windows Phone as SoloPalmari have managed to acquire one for a swift unboxing.  Your home experience won't quite be the same as this - they admit this isn't the final packaging, in fact - but considering we'll gobble up just about any live HD2 footage we can find, you won't hear us arguing.

Google Voice has been available in beta form for a while now and users can get access to the service by requesting an invite from Google or getting an invite from existing Google Voice users. The catch to the service was that the user had to use a new phone number for the features of GV to work. Google announced a new service for Google Voice that allows users to keep their existing number.

BlackBerry Curve2 confirmed in Verizon leaked holiday line-up

Verizon's holiday line-up has leaked, and it includes not only a full page spread of the Android-based Motorola Droid but confirms the incoming Curve2, aka the WiFi enabled 85xx series BlackBerry Curve.  Already announced over at T-Mobile, there's no specific launch date attached to the CDMA Curve2, but we're hoping that its presence in a holiday guide indicates a release before the end of the year.

NEC Android tablet to drop in Japan this fall?

Little more than a tiny image and a handful of specs right now, but NEC are believed to be working on a mobile PC that, to our squinting at least, looks to be Android based.  The touchscreen slate has a 7- to 8-inch LCD display, and NEC apparently have high hopes for its sales performance: they're predicting that they'll eventually ship over 1m of the UMPCs each year.

Apple touting Tablet in Australia?

The Apple Tablet rumors this week have already been tenuous and, well, more tenuous, so let's throw another vaguely unbelievable tidbit into the ring.  According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Apple have been shopping around their tablet to Australian media companies, "in an effort to sound out whether they would be interested in delivering their content to the tablet."  The paper suggests that Apple have been sending around details of the tablet's specifications; however none of the media companies themselves would talk on the record.

Xbox 360 Gamers in the UK get a new feature today that allows them to get more entertainment value out of their game console. That is assuming they like Sky Player and have an Xbox Live Gold membership. Sky has made its Sky Player available officially on the Xbox 360 as of today.
