Logitech Squeezbox Touch in wild; accessories show up on site

Logitech still haven't made the Squeezebox Touch official yet, but unless someone has crafted one out of modelling clay and stuffed a Chumby inside, the touchscreen media streaming device is certainly out there in the wild.  The 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen device promises WiFi b/g, ethernet, USB connectivity and an SD card slot, together with streaming content through Logitech's Squeezebox system, but right now the Touch refuses to do anything other than wait for a software update. Spotify iPhone app gets Apple’s blessing

We'll admit to having been quietly dubious whether Apple would approve Spotify's iPhone and iPod touch app, but according to paidContent UK it's all settled in everything but the rubber stamp.  Apple have told the site that "The current status as of right now is it’s been approved and we hope to add the app to the more than 65,000 apps on the app store very soon. We’ve been in constant communication working with the developer and have already notified Spotify that the app will be in the app store very soon." While the software is free, access to Spotify's streaming music service will require a Premium subscription; this is currently priced at £9.99 ($16) per month in the UK.  Spotify is also not yet available in the US, though the company has previously stated that it hopes to have the service up and running by the end of 2009. gScreen Prepares for the Future With Dual-Display Spacebooks

There is a notebook in here somewhere, we're sure of it. But, if we're going off the screen, or screens for that matter, we'd be a bit surprised to find one. gScreen has previewed their upcoming line of dual-screen Spacebook notebooks, according to the people over at Gizmodo. They're 15.4-inches of goodness, that utilize two full-sized screens that sit side-by-side when needed, or can be pushed together so the user can enjoy a single image. Microsoft Xbox 360 Makes Appearance on Amazon Germany

It's looking more and more like online retailers are letting the ball slip on these kinds of things; or maybe it's crafty marketing by the manufacturers, to get people enticed by early leaks and what not. We can't say for sure, and wouldn't that ruin the surprise? Facebook 3.0 Officially Launches in the App Store

Well, it's been almost two weeks in the process, but the official Facebook application has been officially updated, and is able to be downloaded now via the App Store. It's rocking the 3.0 moniker now, even though it's still listed as version number 2.5 in the store. The app's designer, Joe Hewitt, said that if you hit download anyway, you should get the new application without a hitch. So how does it stack up, and are the features all that great? Some times there's just news that seems too huge to believe, and this would be one of those cases. Let's take a look at the last few months in our government, and the fact that recession was thrown around at least a few times, makes it seem almost ridiculous the findings from AdMob. Apple iPhone May Be Getting Location-Based Home Screens

Location-Based Services (LBS) is huge right now, and while there's already phones out there that take advantage of this service via weather and the like, it looks like Apple has plans to up the ante, so to speak. Phones like the HTC Hero for example, have a weather widget that is always on, and when you change cities, the widget reflects that in real-time. However, Apple wants a handful of applications/icons to reflect this, and to be honest, if Apple can get it to work, it would be pretty fantastic. Read The Full Story

Toshiba TG02 Makes An Appearance at the WiFi Alliance Website

The Toshiba TG01 came out awhile back, and while it may not have been the greatest phone to release this year, it did have some promising aspects: like that huge screen and thin framework. HTC Touch Pro 2 Launching With WinMo 6.1 on Verizon and Sprint

The Touch Pro 2 is coming, with Sprint and Verizon both chomping at the bit to get their own models. And while we're all for new phones, it seems like there are some moments where waiting might be the better route. Not that Windows Mobile 6.1 is necessarily bad, but with the optimizations and functionality promised from WinMo 6.5, this might be the best time to wait and get the best Operating System when it's available. HTC Hero Might Be Up for Pre-Order Soon
