Spotify Mobile video demo: Internet radio with offline playback

Spotify have demonstrated the mobile version of their custom internet radio app, set to launch later in the year and allow offline access to the company's huge catalog of audio tracks.  The demo - which is running on a T-Mobile G1 Android smartphone - shows how playlist tracks can be easily synchronized with the phone's internal memory for offline playback.

The iPhone Latitude news was only the start of it: Google's I/O Conference has been throwing up all manner of news, and our own Vincent Nguyen was on hand to catch it on camera.  After the cut, you can see Google's video demo of Android OS 2.0 "Donut"; they then gave out an exclusive unreleased HTC Magic - with T-Mobile USA AWS support - which having unboxed Android Community are giving away to one lucky forum member.

Apple announces this year’s Back-to-School offer

Students who purchase a new Apple computer (excluding the Mac Mini) will be given a free iPod Touch to go with it. the iPod Touch and new Mac have to be purchased at the same time in order for the student to receive the rebate on the iPod Touch. The rebate is  in the amount of the 8GB iPod Touch ($229), though students can purchase the 16 or 32GB versions and just pay the difference.  Apple runs a back to school program every year, usually starting in June. This offer goes through September 8th, and all College, University students and professors, as well as K-12 teachers are able to take advantage of the offer.

Hitachi UltraVision, Alpha HDTVs headed to US

Hitachi announced today that they will be releasing several HDTV models in the U.S. as early as this month as a part of their UltraVision and Alpha lines, further rounding out the company's LCD offerings for this year.

The UltraVision series is set to have 1080p image quality and 120Hz panels. There will be three different models in this series include the L42S503, a 42-inch version which will go on sale next month for $999. The other two models are the L46S603 and the L55S603, which measure in at 46-inches and 55-inches, respectively and are set to be released in August and September for $1,299 and $1,799.

The Alpha series was also revealed today, and it's more for the budget-friendly crowd with 60Hz panels. This series contains just two models, the L32A403 and the L42A403. These TVs measure in at 32-inches and 42-inches, respectively and are set to be shipped this month for $499 and $849.

ASUS G51 Notebook for gaming revealed

Need a new gaming notebook? ASUS might have just what you're looking for with their brand new G51. This notebook is actually very similar to the Alienware gaming notebooks in terms of style, but it has a few distinct tricks up its sleeve.

This notebook features a robot design that gamers are sure to love. Plus, it has the specs to back it up like the option of a 2GHz or 2.26GHz Core 2 Quad processor or a standard 2GHz or 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo processor.

The G51 has a 16:9 widescreen 15.6-inch LED backlit display, 4GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 260M for graphics and up to a terabyte of hard drive space. You can also add on a Blu-ray drive, a 2-megapixel webcam and a backlit keyboard. We don't know how much the G51 will cost exactly, but pricing estimates fall between $1,300 and $1,500 with a release date coming sometime in July.
