SlashGear has been hanging out with Google this week, at the I/O 2009 conference.  You can read our first day and second day highlights for the full details, but perhaps the most interesting news was Google’s Wave demo for iPhone and Android, and Andy Rubin’s confirmation that there should be 18-20 Android handsets on the market by the end of the year.  One of those is expected to be the HTC Hero; make sure to check out the promo video for the chin-heavy smartphone.

By Chris Davies on Saturday, May 30th 2009 2 Comments

Sony’s new handheld gaming console, the much-rumored PSP Go, has leaked ahead of its official E3 2009 launch.  Bearing quite the resemblance to the fan mockups seen during the ongoing rumors, the PSP Go will have a 3.8-inch display, 16GB of flash memory, Bluetooth (with support for headsets and wirelessly tethering cellphones) and a Memory Stick Micro card slot.

Apparently, just the fact that a game called DJ Hero is on the way is not enough. Instead, Activision is also going to be releasing a limited edition version of the video game that includes Eminem and Jay-Z tracks.

On the eve of Computex 2009, some company’s just can’t keep their excitement to themselves.  Foxconn have been spilling the details on their SZ901, and Sascha at netbooknews.de caught up with the 10.1-inch netbook at the Linpus headquarters.  Under the hood there’s the usual Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard-drive and, slightly more interesting, a UMTS 3G WWAN module, but it’s the OS which is actually catching our attention.

Is there space in your heart for a non-Apple PMP?  Bearing a glowing red eye worryingly like that of HAL 9000, the atree Red Eye J2 is – if you listen to the marketing hyperbole – “Experts made, Mania’s Choice!”  Who can say they don’t have enough mania in their music these days?

Hot on the heels of ASUS’ new Eee Box nettops comes rival MSI’s new Wind Box DE200.  Sporting a new tapered design that reminds me of a Cylon’s helmet, the Wind Box DE200 pairs Intel’s Atom 230 1.6GHz processor with an ATI Radeon HD 4350 GPU and HDMI output.
