Panasonic ToughBook 19/30′s upgrades now available for US

Last week we reported couple of upgraded Toughbook CF19 and CF-30 were spotted at Panasonic, Japanese site. Today, announcement of similar units are made available for US consumers. As reported, both models are now sharing an ultra high luminance 1000 nit LCDs (previously not available for CF-19), and have gotten better anti-glare and anti-reflective treatments, with circular polarization technology incorporated into the screen to improve outdoor usages, and many hardware updates that worth the wait. BenQ’s GP1 compact projector featured PhlatLight LEDs technology

While visiting CES 2009, the folks from Luminus gave me a short 5 minutes walk-though on their PT-39 LED Chipset that used to power all those ultra bright and color accurate mobile-size projectors. I was more impressed with water-cooled Chi Lin and Vivitek full-feature projectors; but after a second look on the mini-projectors’ throwing images, I have to say the composes of three individual LED chips were not joke when it came to brightness and color reproduction. It can throw 100 of lumen and claim 20k hours of lamp life, the light source is about 10 times more usable than my home projector. If you want to give it spin, BenQ has recently announced the availability of GP1 Pocket Projector, which incorporated Luminous PhlatLight’s PT-39 chipset and Texas Instruments DLP technology to produce the on-the-go mobile beamer at its best. Sony Eco TV gets tested in Japan, 40% power reduction reached

Coming this summer of 2009, Sony will release a series of Bravia Eco TV in the range 40-inch, 46-inch and 52-inch widescreen displays, which utilize a presence sensor-based function and a higher luminous efficiency HCFL light source at deduced size, to cut down power consumption as low as 40%. The same technology, were in fact, being used at current V5 series TV lineup, and the folks at Nikkie were invited to examine its features and effectiveness in dealing with the power saving modes. Samsung AnyCall Show Pico-Projector phone gets video demo

Samsung's AnyCall Show pico-projector phone was one of the surprise hits at CES earlier this month, blowing us away with the image quality possible from a TI projector hidden inside a touchscreen 3G smartphone.  Back then, we knew it would be going to South Korea before the rest of us would get a sniff at it, but PopSci have cranked up the envy factor with a hands-on video demo of the AnyCall Show in action. Amazon launching Kindle 2 at February 9th press conference?

Amazon has set ebook tongues wagging with select invites to an "important" press conference to be held in New York on February 9th.  While the retailer has made no mention of what might be on the cards for the event, the common assumption is that it will see the launch of the Kindle 2, the replacement to the best-selling Kindle ebook reader. Hori Real Arcade Pro EX SE stick with authentic arcade components

Hori are already known for their arcade controllers, and now they can be known for an expensive arcade controller.  The Hori Real Arcade Pro EX SE for Xbox 360 takes the company's standard arcade stick, tosses out the regular stick and buttons, and replaces them with components made by Japanese firm Seimitsu who supply the controls for real arcade cabinets. HP 6-cell battery for Mini 1000 netbook breaks cover
