Age of Conan surpasses the 400,000 subscriber mark

There's no doubt that World of Warcraft is the most successful MMORPG in history, but it can't hold that title forever. It's going to take one hell of a game to take its crown, and it looks like Age of Conan just might be the one to do it. Read The Full Story

Motley Crue Single sells 47,000 copies via Rock Band

Remember back when I told you that Motley Crue was releasing their latest single in Rock Band? Well, I've been wondering just how well it has sold, especially in comparison to iTunes sales. To say it sold well would be an understatement. Read The Full Story

Microsoft Windows 7 to include MultiTouch

, May 28th 2008 Discuss [0]

We usually stick to hardware here at SlashGear, but Microsoft’s announcement that it will be including MultiTouch in the upcoming Windows 7 OS is interesting enough to bend the rules.  Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer sat down with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher at D to discuss the new inclusion, with a demonstration of MultiTouch working on a somewhat modified Dell Latitude XT Tablet PC.  Apparently much of the work that the Surface team has been doing is rolled into Windows 7, which will see a release in late 2009.

MSI GeForce N9600GT Diamond graphics with overclock button

, May 27th 2008 Discuss [0]

Deep down, in my geeky heart of hearts, I know the one thing that can turn a good piece of tech into a kick-ass gadget is a big red button.  Thankfully MSI know that too, which is obviously why they've added a bright red overclock button to their GeForce N9600GT Diamond graphics card that they demonstrated at its ECOlution press conference in Taipei. When pressed, the graphics core and memory clock speeds are overclocked, and the voltage increased. Read The Full Story

According to the latest rumors, Intel are planning a dual-core version of the Atom mobile processor that will launch in Q3 2008. Like the existing single-core Atom 230, the new version - to be called the Atom 330 - will run at 1.6GHz. It will also have double the cache of the original Atom, 1MB, though it's speculated that this will be in the form of two discrete 512kb, one for each processor core. Read The Full Story

Stealth 24-inch ruggedized LCD touchscreen

, May 27th 2008 Discuss [0]

Anyone who has ever tried to demonstrate a touchscreen likely knows the anxiety of seeing a novice user jab brutally at the display.  Bad enough when it's your precious Tablet PC; potentially even more expensive if it's your home automation interface.  So it's good to see Stealth Computer's new SV-2400 ruggedized touchscreen; intended, really, for industrial applications, the 24-inch widescreen would nonetheless make for a great combo control panel and display for any user with forceful fingers. Brave words from notebook manufacturer PC Microworks today: they're calling their new Edge model "the most powerful 15.4-inch notebook in the world."  At first glance, it's certainly got some hefty specs; Intel Montevina Dual and Quad Core CPUs, 8GB of RAM and up to 4TB of storage. Sellgino GS-200 ‘GPS Photo Tour’ standalone geotagger

, May 27th 2008 Discuss [0]

As image support on mapping apps becomes more common, photo GPS geotagging is becoming more popular.  However the number of cameras supporting the functionality out-of-the-box is still small, and that assumes you're in the market to upgrade anyway.  Sellgino Telecom have an alternative, however; their GS-200 'GPS Photo Tour' is a standalone GPS receiver and logger, that comes with software that will analyze your images and match them up with location data.  Read The Full Story

Suissa Enlighten limited edition wood & aluminum PC

, May 27th 2008 Discuss [0]

Canadian firm Suissa Computers have revealed their latest unusual design, the Enlighten PC.  Reminiscent of a retro music system, perhaps, the Enlighten in fact is a custom wood, metal and glass case with separated components to boost cooling.  And unlike similarly artistic cases, the Enlighten doesn't skimp on its computing credentials: a choice of Intel Quad core CPU or AMD X2 6400+ processors, while 4GB of RAM and 1TB of storage are both standard. Panasonic RP-HJE900 zirconia earphones

, May 27th 2008 Discuss [0]

I've always associated zirconia with cheap jewellery from TV shopping channels, but Panasonic have seemingly chosen it for its ability to quell sound-distortion rather than its faux-glamour.  Their RP-HJE900 earphones feature zirconia casings that have particularly low resonance level, unlike traditional plastic shells.  They're also much stronger than plastic, and resistant to scratches.
