JBL Shows Off $300,000 Home Entertainment Set-Up, Project Everest DD66000 Speakers

So there are 3 major parts to this story, first, there is an anecdote pertaining to a sheikh and a similar JBL sound system installed in his yacht, then there is the system showed off by JBL, and then the Project Everest DD66000 speakers themselves. So to start with the Project Everest DD66000 speakers, they are heavy, that’s first and foremost weighing 360 pounds a piece. They will nearly cost you their weight in gold too, ringing up at a rounded $40,000 each. JBL says they haven’t been able to keep them in stock since they began production. Read The Full Story

Roller-Walker Robot Can Walk Like Insect Or Make Like A Tree

And roll. Apparently the robot can use its legs as just that and then convert to a skating robot (sk8rb0t?). It is really quite amazing and the video is definitely worth a watch. The robot made by Hirose-Fukushima Robotics Lab, basically uses the skating wheels on their side as feet when walking, then in a well thought out balancing act converts each leg, one at a time, to a wheel by basically turning its ankles, if you will, at 90 degree angles. The movement of the robot when skating is very fluid, and probably is designed for maximum efficiency. Read The Full Story

This particular villain has a device that utilizes sound to create physical objects, including himself in some weird turn of events. In the story, someone else steals his power essentially ridding himself of his own existence. Well one of his fellow evil doers wasn’t to keen on Klaw’s absence so he did something about it. I, like you probably, wondered what the heck this device did. Apparently it trains your lungs, allows them to fill with more air, work better, stronger, and faster, so essentially the Ironman PLUS is like a workout machine for your lungs. There are three settings, light, medium, and heavy. Obviously you would probably want to start with the light level and work your way up. Well, if your computer had a front side mic port, or if you have a headphone cable extension, you can use this mic. Otherwise, I would steer clear as its ultra-compact size prevents it from being useful from the backside of a computer. This microphone measures at 23x22mm and I am sure one of those dimensions is skewed by the length of the microphone’s male adapter. First off, I want to state that I am perturbed by the fact that we still don’t have this wireless TV technology over here, sure the fact that the number of people per square mile in most oriental countries is considerably higher, allowing for a larger customer base for short range wireless devices, but still. Anyways, they have been blessed with another portable TV equipped with DVB-T and a 7” screen. The DVB-T even supports the EPG programming guide and teletext. There is also a lengthy list of codecs supported, starting with WAV, AAC, MP3, WMA, M-JPEG, MPEG1,2,4 , JPEG, and DivX. Read The Full Story

Make Slime In 15 Minutes Or Less

So, the kid in me wants to do this right now, but the adult in me realizes that would involve getting up and going to the store, so sadly I will probably never get this done. However it is really cool, and the author says 15 minutes, but I think if you had all the supplies, it could probably be done in less. So what does it take to make slime al la Nickelodeon? 2 spoons (there are two different mixing procedures, and then a third where I assume you can use either spoon), 2 crystal (I think glass will work as well) flasks or jars, Borax, distilled water, Gouache paint (might be called something different here in the US, the writer was from Mexico I believe), and Mucilage. Casio Exilim, Fastest Digital Camera in the World, So Far

So Casio released the specs, and apparently some hi res shots, but most of the specs can be learned just from the photos. Apparently its destined for the Exilim line. What makes it the fastest digital camera? Its amazing ability to capture still images at a lightning quick 60 full resolution shots per second, hopefully that means there is a burst mode as I can’t push a button 60 times in one second.
