Also… releasing unverified results is bad form… its like a low blow in sports. (A little simplistic of a comparison, but it gets the point across)

Scientists with half a brain are refuting evolution can happen on its own without some sort of intelligence behind it. The good ones proposed the theory of intelligent design. And were told to shut up. They’re afraid God might exist…

Seriously? Posting unconfirmed data that could be erroneous is negligent and irresponsible. False alarms hurt credibility and recognition. You’re not going to die; just sit down and wait.

That is fine. They can release it to us, and caution it is not yet confirmed. Releasing the data won’t stop them from checking it later. We aren’t children that will die if we get that kind of warning.

Part of a scientist’s job description is to check and double-check their results. Scientists that don’t aren’t good scientists.

Why does NASA get to play dictator to the American public and not release the early data to us? What is it afraid of? Who cares if the data later turns out to be wrong, we still deserve to hear it, unless national security is truly at stake (justify that one NASA). And so what if the data is found to be wrong–the worst thing that can happen is we have some temporary excitement.
