It's true that the original Crysis is more demanding than most games but lets be honest...it's not fair to say that most gamers can't run the game at any higher than medium. That is just not true.

I have a single 8800 GTX and I run the game at VERY HIGH just fine at 1280x1024 resolution with a very playable frame rate. Both the 8800 GT and 8800 GTS have very similar performance results as well. For under $250, you can run Crysis at very impressive settings. This wasn't the case when it was released, but the technology has since caught up to the game quite a bit.

The new mid level ATI and nVidia cards due out this month and next should have no problem running the game at High and Very High with a reasonable resolution setting.

It'd be much more fair to say that most gamers can't run the game at max details and max resolution.

Now if you want to talk ludicrus settings of Very High at 2560x1600 with 16xAF/4xAA then yes you probably will need a Tri-SLI GTX280 system in the $4000+ price range.
