Crock-Pot Smart Slow Cooker gives you smartphone control

Crock-Pot has a new slow cooker up its sleeve, and while it might not make quite the same statement as a Hello Kitty cooker, it is thrice as functional. The Smart Slow Cooker is set to arrive with WeMo connectivity and accompanying smartphone apps.

The Smart Slow Cooker from Crock-Pot will allow iPhone and Android users to connect with the appliance from their mobile device via the WeMo app. Using the app, the user can then control the slow cooker from a distance, removing the need to hang around your kitchen.

Via the app, users can control the appliance's temperature, cook time, and turn the slow cooker off if needed, as well as check out how much time is left for cooking and dialing things down to the WARM setting if your meal finishes up before you're ready.

The appliance, despite its technological underpinnings, is safe to put in the dishwasher, and includes cool-touch handles. Unfortunately, it isn't clear when the Smart Slow Cooker will become available, nor how much it will cost.
