These are exactly my complaints. I can't even find a stepping mode so that I can go back an read the credits. If knew what I know now i would never have paid the installation fee to upgrade. There is ZERO intuitiveness to anything on the DVR plus the rating system is gone from the movies too!

You forgot to mention one of the biggest downers is it doesnt have a back button so when you are watching ondemand and you hunt around for something you want to watch & decide you dont like it and want to watch the next show under it, you have to start all over again to get back to the original spot, this is the worst!

That's not the only problems with this box of *&%$! The search feature fails to show most of the HD Channel listing times for that show! Can't modify a recording one it was started; soif it was started late by the network, you have to record the show after it. If you are recording 2 shows and watching pre-recorded show, when it ends the DVR asks "which in progress recording do want to cancel so it can change back to the channel you were on when you started watch that show, Why????? Then when you cancel it so you can continue the two recordings it goes to blank video with no sound. But the most stuppid of all is whe both tunners are needed and you are watching a live show on a different channel, at 5 till it will tell you it needs both tunners and ask if you want to cancel one of the preset recordings or to change channels, and I guess thats fine, but if you leave the room at 6 minutes till and don't return till 10 minutes after, that stuppid little sign is still waiting for you to answer and did not start the preset recording for one of the shows (so you will miss the first 10 minutes if that show)! This is just a few of the problems I found. So unless you like problems and want to spend time talking to a customer service rep. DO NOT GET THIS NEW DVR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please stop and read this before purchasing the Cox whole home DVR.

This thing is a piece of junk. I am in complete awe that Cox looked at this thing and said it was ready to release. The programming is supposed to be more user friendly, but it takes a lot more button presses to do things now. You can only extend a recording by 30 minutes now. When you hit pause, the status bar stays on the screen blocking what you wanted to see when you hit pause. If you hit pause and leave for more than about 10 minutes, it doesnt switch to screen saver anymore, it goes back to the last channel you were on. There is no option to stop a recording while in progress.

The most annoying thing is the severe delay between when you hit a button and something actually happens. I literally have waited several minutes, yes I said minutes, from the time I pressed the button to the time it did what it was supposed to do!!! Normal is several seconds, and occasionally its only about 1 second. I am returning this piece of junk and I encourage no one buy this thing.
