Every year as people travel for work and vacations millions of photos are taken in places where important events happened in history. A cool new application has surfaced that is being designed by folks from MIT that mingles old photos with new ones.
The app takes a photo that a person takes today and then puts a piece from a historical photo over the top of the current photo. This lets you have a modern photo with a sort of window to the past.
The software helps the person taking the picture to get the shot framed exactly as the historical photo so the overlay of the old pic matches the new one. The developers say that they envision the software eventually running directly on the camera.
