Batteries start decomposing at 160, but most products automatically get shut off after 140…. what’s disturbing me is that its winter right now, what happens in the summer?

People have been injured using their product. 2 different cases have been reported of an iPhone 4′s battery exploding and injuring the user. The last one left the guy with 2nd degree burns on his hands and loss of sensitivity in his fingertips. That’s a pretty serious issue if you ask me.

I feel the claims of overheating might be a bit exaggerated due to the device’s popularity. Haven’t had an overheating problem with the new iPad yet, although my old laptop on the other hand gets so hot after an hour of use that I could literally fry eggs on it.

This is a joke that gets thrown around with a lot of Apple’s products, but they rarely every admit fault in these issues. When are consumers going to actually stop buying their over priced incremental updated hardware for insanely marked up prices? The only way Apple is going to change the way the operate is if the people make them.

I felt like I could burn my hands with my new iPad so I contacted AppleCare about it. All they did was ask me a bunch of questions. And I replied, “Apple, why are you giving me the third degree?” (hehehe)

“Consumer Reports also discovered that the new
iPad’s battery would not recharge while the game was running and the
power supply was plugged in. It’s believed that the new A5X processor
may have been drawing too much power during heavy use for the USB
charger connection to overcome.”

Could also just be that recharging is suspended when the battery is too hot, since recharging also increases the temperature.
