Really a moot point though, the “other platforms” categories wouldn’t make up for much of a difference even if it was entirely android.

Yeah, I agree you need an insane amount of magnification to see Android’s failure, what with it having twice the market share as IOS in the US. Utter failure. ;-)

There is no doubt that there are more ipads that android tablets. however one mayor problem measuring traffic is that android hc tablets don’t identify themselves as such by default (their useragent string states linux with no reference to android or mobile )

True. The rear view mirror does not have the magnification to show the absolute failure Android is in the tablet and MP3 player space.

Android is serious lacking is system performance (not just hardware but systems) and won’t even begin to catch on when people actually have to pay for the dismal OS it is. B1GOF works well when you get hook people on a 2 year contract.

They are getting much cheaper though and additional pressure may be brought once Windows 8 comes out as many will likely create dual boot systems to maximize market potential.

Additionally, Apple doesn’t hold the lead in system specs and combined with lower pricing does mean mounting reasons to consider a Android versus a iOS device.

While both Android and iOS are improving and also reducing the differences as they both adopt the best features from the other.

The upcoming ICS Android update hopes to radically reduce software fragmentation that has been holding android back as well and if it does improve the overall experience then that can mean trouble for iOS.

So, considering all those factors, I’d give Apple 1-2 more years to hold market dominance before the competition starts taking the lead.

When I’m using the browser on my HTC… I’m.using dolphin with the user agent spoofed to desktop mode..

I have no idea how they collect this data, but if It’s with user agent data.. It’s sketchy info at best…

I have a browser on ios that can spoof every browser ever made.. ie6 anyone?
