Worth Reading?

NoYes

My first gaming console was the original NES, but for many of you reading this, you likely had many good times with your Commodore64. Unfortunately, the 90’s weren’t so great to the best-selling console of the 80’s and the company pretty much dropped off the radar.

Commodore is looking to make a comeback in the gaming business with a new line of gaming PCs. Judging from the reaction I’ve seen so far, they are poised to make a triumphant return. I think many people would love to own a Commodore gaming PC if only for nostalgia.

We don’t have a lot of details yet, but according to their website, we’ve got just about a week to wait.

Commodore did not pretty much drop off the radar. It went bankrupt. The rights to its name and patents changed many a hand before being bought by a Dutch company called Yeahronimo Inc, from Tulip Computers another Dutch Company. Yeahronimo in the meanwhile, changed its business name to Commodore International Corporation and created a daughter company called Commodore Gaming. It is this company that wants to cash in on the nostalgia for the masses of Commodore followers. My guess is that, they are about to release an overprised C= branded PC, but I hope they prove me wrong.

What’s more ironic is that Commodore went bancrupt mostly because they forced PC clones and C64 over Amiga.
