Uh, how about TI-99/4A, not A4. You should have gone with an Atari 400. If I recall correctly, the Atari 400 could be had for about the price of a TI-99/4A. The 800 and the C64 were about evenly priced.

I worked full-time the summer between 8th and 9th grade to save up for my Atari 800, 48k add-in board (3rd party, don't remember brand), a tape drive, a Suncom joystick, and a RCA 13" color TV. Man, this was the shit. Well, almost. I still had Apple ][e envy as Ultima wasn't available for the Atari.

As for the new Commodore machine, Why in the goddess's name are they going with an Atom processor??? Geezus, this will be a lame bit of kit.
