Comcast Xfinity TV Gets Android Honeycomb, Gingerbread, And iPad App Updates

The Comcast Xfinity TV app has been available to the iOS platform since last year, offering Xfinity TV customers the ability to turn their iPads into giant TV remotes. And now it's finally coming to the Android platform. Today, the company announced new Xfinity TV apps designed for Android Honeycomb tablets and Gingerbread smartphones.

The app will allow Xfinity customers to browse TV listings by area, browse On Demand libraries, schedule DVR recordings, change channels, and easily filter and search for favorite shows and movies. The app is free to download and should also work for Android 3.1 tablets with a 1280 x 800 resolution.

An update to version 1.5.3 for the iPad and iPhone Comcast Xfinity TV app was also released today with some minor bug fixes and stability improvements. The apps are free to download, but of course will only work if you're a Comcast Xfinity subscriber and have the set-top box.
