For anyone interested in actually factual information regarding this suit. Two men have filed a lawsuit against Apple and have REQUESTED that the justice grant them class-action status. As far as I can tell no decision has been made yet. Shane once again misses the mark in his incoherent ramblings. Some other websites are also posting the words “Class-action” in their headlines because sensationalism always draws a crowd.

No wonder they claim iPhone has got minimal UI design. Now you know how they do it.. make the options opt-in as default and take them off UI!

This will go nowhere for two reason:

- There’s no personal information or ID attached to the info. It just gives the location of an iDevice, much the thousands of others all in your neighborhood.
- It says in your EULA that they may log this information.

Also, when you install APPs (heh) from the Android Marketplace (tm … heh) it tells you exactly what the program is accessing, including location services, very clearly.

I mean, I know that because it’s a cell phone it’s able to track me wherever I take it, and wherever I use it … I signed on to that when I got it. But why would all of that data need to be stored behind my back?

Oh Apple. Steve Jobs will just wink and nod, and it will all go away. People will forget and keep on lovin’ their lil iPhones.

So they should! Apple was doing this without users consent or knowledge, and now that they have been caught out, they are being childish, claiming Google do the same.

The difference with Google and Android is that Google tells you, gives you a choice to opt in or opt out. Its called Google Latitude. Apple on the other hand don’t tell you a thing, and only now two programmers have found a hidden file.

The fact it’s hidden speaks volumes. Apple want to know what you’re doing and where. They have become what they claimed to be against all those years ago. Sure does seem a lot like “1984″.
