Every electrical device in one’s home is potentially a microphone, voice recorder or camera. Remember when the power companies were going to get into the ISP business via their wires? Think about it: It wouldn’t be terribly difficult to implant remotely addressable monitoring devices into even small appliances, with no apparent internet connection at all. I’ll betcha that’s how they’re now catching terrorists, who are too savvy to use land-line or cell phones.

First-off, it is very disturbing that our government has taken the stance that We the People are their enemy and that we must be incessantly watched by them. We can see that in the jack-boot style training given to our local police; in their treatment of us at our airports; and,too, in the area of surveillance of us. I know there will always be folks in the world that want to hurt others—for whatever reason. However, we in America have bought into the fact that somehow we need “protected” by our Government. I say, quite to the contrary. We need to be protected from our Government. The Constitution of the United States is the one document that has shielded us from Govermnental tyrany. Through Executive Orders and by other means our Government has circumvented the authority of that great document which insures our freedoms in order to “protect” us they say. I feel that this new cyber surveillance is just another way they are “protecting themselves from us” as we wake up to understand their abuses of office and of the Constitution. Enough is enough.

I don’t mind one bit if the government can track my every purchase, know where I am at all times, or even when I’m intimate with my wife. *I* have nothing to hide, as I’m a law abiding citizen.

Crack pots like Ron Paul that claim that they should be able to live “peacefully without government intrusion” make me suspicious. What does Paul do in his bedroom that is so abnormal that he is afraid of others knowing about it? Why is he so hell bent on law abiding citizens not being spied on? Why does he insist an impartial court should be involved in issuing warrants for spying? I don’t trust judges to not tip off terrorists when they issue warrants. Just let the cia/fbi do what they need to do to protect us.
