I expect that Google is going to keep it under lock and key to "preserve the experience." If you put it on your piece of crap Dell (doesn't matter what model, because really aren't all Dells crap to begin with) and it doesn't work well, then people will go complaining about the OS when really it's the hardware to blame.

the point of web apps is that you don't use more hard drive space other than the operating system itself, which would make me believe that these would get cheaper because they would only need a 2GB thumb drive to run them.

Call me crazy, but I generally don't like using apps on a phone (would rather use a web browser) much less on a PC. What reason would you have for using a Sports Illustrated app on a PC? It makes no sense. I think it'd be much easier to go online to get it (which you will have to do anyway even with an app) and save it to read later with one of many available addons for Chrome or FF.

The concept of using apps on a PC just makes no sense to me at all. For phones it can be convenient (can being the key term). For PCs, it is just redundant.

My only major concern with the Chrome OS was that it required you to be online to use, with this news my next question is: Can I download Chrome OS on my Lenovo x100e, I love my little notebook, and I'd love to try Chrome (I already use that as my web browser anyway) but I don't want to buy new hardware.
