True 3D technology has been promised for years. Is it too much to ask that someone follows through on this? According to Chimei it’s not. In fact, they’re showing off their 3D-Gaming monitor at Computex Taipei this week.

3D Monitor

The 22-inch monitor has a max resolution of 1680×1050, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, a 5ms response time and 170/160 degree viewing angles. As a 2D monitor, it doesn’t sound too bad. But it can be switched between 2D and 3D modes for an incredible experience.

The monitor requires a special glass and 2 LCD panels in order to pull off this 3D experience. Unfortunately, this will keep the cost of the monitor fairly high. No word yet when these will be officially launched.
