CES 2009: iRiver WAVE HOME Video Demo

At a CES with fewer than usual slam-dunk gadgets, iRiver's WAVE HOME still stands out as one of the more interesting developments.  Our demo video with the touchscreen communications and media device is now processed, so make sure to check it out after the cut.  In it, all of the WAVE HOME's primary features are demonstrated: VoIP calls, messages, internet access, media playback and more.

Connecting to the internet via a wired ethernet link, the V-shaped WAVE HOME hides a wireless VoIP handset that doubles as a remote control for media use.  It's also possible to use the device as an internet terminal, navigating via the touchscreen, and iRiver have added an online payments system that will eventually be able to read your credit card.

iRiver expect the WAVE HOME to be available sometime this year, priced at around $400.  Remember, our photo gallery of the WAVE HOME is here, together with more hands-on details, so check it out if you're as interested in this iRiver gadget as we are.
