Don’t let the hard-drive and DVD burner fool you: this isn’t an ultraportable laptop, but a netbook cooler with extra talents.  Century’s Netbook Stand aims to address two of the more common complaints about budget ultraportables, low storage capacity and no optical drive, by squeezing both things into a compact slice.

Inside the 260 x 190 x 19mm case there’s a DVD SuperMulti drive, plus room for a 2.5mm SATA HDD or SSD.  Each connect to the netbook via a single USB 2.0 cable, and there are two spare USB 2.0 ports on the side of the slice which could be used to leave printers or other peripherals permanently hooked up on your desk.

A flip-up 4cm fan is intended to help cool your netbook while you work.  Priced at 9,980 yen ($102) in Japan, though that does not include an HDD/SDD, which users are expected to supply themselves.
