I’ve always thought retractable bollards are cool (yes, I’m very geeky), but this makes them even cooler. Canon have been really imaginative with their latest ad campaign for the S1 camera, and while it doesn’t actually tell you anything much about the product itself it does make you interested. I can see this being particularly effective if there was a camera store right next to the bollards, so you could attract attention and then lure people in.

Rumours that the makers of Viagra are planning a similar campaign for their impotency tablets are currently unconfirmed.

Powershot S1? The only Powershot S1 I can find any info on is two years old and looks nothing like the one in the pictures above. Might you be able to link to a product announcement?

I think you’re right, BA Barracus – the S1 does look to be an old model. From the pictures I can find http://www.canon.co.uk/for_hom...../index.asp it does look like the camera in the pictures, but the latest variant Canon are selling appears to be the S3.
Hopefully they continued to develop this ad campaign for the new models.
