Last Month Canon admitted the world’s fastest 10mp D-SLR has AF-issue with a sub mirror fix and addressed a service repair call for units with series number starts at 501001 to 546561. The repair is free of charge but never mentioned warranty extension in any part of the service notice. Rob’s has posted an update on the subject.

Canon offers one year warranty extension for sub-mirror repaired 1D Mark III?

Max Simbron, a photographer from Phoenix, Arizona has received the repaired unit and was surprised to see an additional one full year warranty extension noted along with an apologetic acknowledgment of the problem. At least that’s the best they can do for loyal customer but to restore the trembling confidence completely, they need get final approval from Rob Galbraith.
