Canon and Apple are reportedly collaborating together on a project with mutual overlap, though the exact nature of the partnership is currently unknown. CanonRumors‘ source couldn’t say what product(s) might be in the pipeline, though there are several areas in which there’s potential for Canon’s involvement. The spring update to Final Cut is a likely possibility, tipped for a “dramatic and ambitious” update, though iMovie – now also on the iPad and iPhone 4 – could be another.

Meanwhile, Apple’s predicted updates to MobileMe, and recent enhancements to AirPlay, might also benefit from some Canon involvement. Mention of a new Photo Stream auto-upload app was spotted in iOS 4.3 betas – though not in the release version – suggesting Canon may be adding some sort of support to their cameras.
