i wish 5d mark 3 will have 18 megapixel as 1dx to have better performance for high iso.
(i almost swich form canon to nikon d3s because of noise performace.)
i agree with rocco saya both nikon and canon are good camera however i have to many
canon lenses so i am very please that 5d mk3 will not increase megapixel.

curious.. were you making the same argument that less mp = higher quality pictures back when the 5DMkII came out with 21mp when the D700 “only” had 12mp?
and while i agree that statement is generally true, i don’t see how you can, in the same paragraph, say that 1DX is winner (over the D4 i presume, since they’re the same class camera) when D4 has larger pixels (7.3microns) than the 1Dx (6.93microns).
the D800′s 36mp won’t be a “disaster”. for your information, the D800 actually has bigger pixel size than any of canon’s 18mp APS-C DSLRs. if you’re concerned about the file sizes, just reduce the image size in camera, or during post processing. but at least with the D800, you have the option to use the full 36mp for really large prints.

Can’t you see the difference between the “III” symbols? One has a different colour. It’s a fake picture. Wait for the originals. Why the guys doesn’t show the back of the camera? Because it’s a fake.

I was disappointed. I thought it would have an articulated LCD monitor, because ever since I wanted a/n SLR, it would be the 5D Mark II (but waited for the Mark III). Oh, well.

Good grief! Stop it with the megapixels! I applaud Canon for finally stop caving in to stupidity. Right now very few people need anything more than 15 or so megapixels. Less megapixels = more light per pixel = higher quality photos, especially in low light! 36 megapixels for the average photographer equals a disaster. Mark my words, the new canon cameras will have far better image quality than the D800. Granted, 36 mega pixels would be great for cropping and if you need that… Go get the Nikon D800. But when you average it all out, the winner will be the 1dx and 5d mark iii. Too bad we can’t afford to buy Nikon and Canon… But most of us must choose one or the other due to budgets!

Any specs on the video improvements for this camera, since the mark ii had reached legendary status for DSLR video?
