Canon EOS 30D

The Canon 40D DSLR has been one of those things that’s been rumored to be coming out for some time. Speculation has been going around since sometime last year, yet not that first shred of evidence of its existence has shown itself. That is until the CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) slipped up.

While looking at the CIPA PictBridge-certified product page it casually mentions the Canon EOS 40D. Of course that page only lists model numbers, so don’t expect to find any juicy details.

It is likely that Canon is close to finishing work on the camera and will likely be announcing it sometime soon, otherwise it could never have achieved PictBridge certification. Don’t be surprised if we hear an official announcement sometime in the coming weeks.
