Can your router do this?

It always seems that over in places like Korea they're always getting the cool stuff before we do over here in the States. Their broadband is much faster than anything we could dream of having, and more people per capita have access to high-speed internet. Well here's another one you can add to the list. Korean-based Etri is demonstrating a router capable of speeds up to 270Mbps and an incredible range of up to 1km.

I'm happy that my router can transmit 100Mbps all the way to the second floor of my house. I see this as being highly advantageous to businesses and schools that have a large area that they want to cover with Wi-Fi access. Just remember, the farther your signal can reach, the more people can potentially gain unauthorized access to your network. Just be sure to take all of the necessary security measures before you go hooking one of these babies up. That is, if you can get your hands on one.
