Activision Blizzard announced today the third map expansion pack called Annihilation for its popular first-person shooter game, Call of Duty: Black Ops, that will bring new levels for multiplayer gameplay. This third map pack will hit Xbox Live later this month and follows the Escalation pack released in May and the First Strike pack released in February. Catch a preview of Annihilation after the cut.
Annihilation will bring four new multiplayer maps and a new zombie hunter level. The four maps are called Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo, and Hazard. The zombie level is set in Shangri-La and is described by Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia as an "exotic and mysterious map filled with deadly traps, dark secrets, and innovative gameplay that will challenge even the most daring Zombie hunters."
Activision's Call of Duty Black Ops is one of the best-selling video games of all time with sales surpassing $1 billion since its launch last November. This new map pack add-on will arrive on Xbox LIVE first, as usual, before it heads over to the PlayStation Network. It's confirmed for a June 28th release on Xbox Live, but no release dates have been confirmed yet for the PlayStation Network.
