Burner brings its disposable phone number service to Android

Burner, a very renown disposable phone number app, has finally made its way to Android. The app gives you disposable phone numbers that you can use to make calls or send text messages with. There are many reasons why you would need a disposable phone number, including buying or selling things on Craigslist, giving out your number to a stranger, prank messaging someone, and many more.

Burner phones can cost $20-$30 a piece, so by using the Burner app, you can save yourself a lot of money. You get a sample phone number with the app, that comes with 5 minutes of talk time, or 15 SMS text messages. The number is available for 24 hours, or whenever you use up your allotted minutes/text messages. You can also extend your phone number for 30 days and add 50 minutes, or 150 SMS messages, to your number for 5 credits (pricing for credits range from $1.99 for 3 credits to $11.99 for 25 credits).

After you are finished with your phone number, you can "burn the phone number". What this will do is take the phone number out of service and wipe all of its data from your phone. Whenever someone tries to call you or send you a message, they will receive an error message. Unfortunately, if you burn your phone number, you will lose all of the minutes and messages that you added to it.

You also have the option of disabling your ringtone or notification tone for your Burner number if you don't want to be bothered. This app works wonder, because you never know when you'll need to give out a temporary phone number. You can pick up the app now from the Google Play store. But fair warning, since it has just recently launched, the servers are a bit overwhelmed and the app does have a few bugs that will interfere with its service. Hopefully everything smooths out within the coming days.
