What "dirty move"? Does any other online music retailer, for example Amazon, support license transfer? I don't think so. And the reason is that the record companies want that restriction.

I'm in full support of the idea that the license should be transferable, but what can Apple do if their ability to sell music is contingent on conforming to the record company's policies?

I know you want to find reasons to hate Apple, but do you really believe, given what you know about record companies, that they want to allow license transfers, but for big bad Apple standing in their way?

I like Apple products for the most part, but refuse to buy online music from them or anyone else. I encourage others who think that online music purchases are a bad value to keep buying CDs instead. The sound quality is better, and you can do what you want with them.

Ok, so they will refund all of the money at death as well, right? Seeing as how we are borrowing, and not renting, I'll take my .99 that I lent out as well, along with interest. And if we're going to just hold on to each others stuff, please borrow this bag of poop. I may want it back if you die.

I'm not sure Apple is the "bad guy" here. For Apple to support transferability of license, wouldn't that require the permission of the record companies?
