Bluebird BIP-6000 rugged ultra mobile computer gets Android

Rugged computers are a requirement in many work areas. You can't send a standard computer into the oil field for instance and expect it to work for very long. For this type of environment, you need a rugged computer if you expect it to last. A small computer is also good for this type of user since it's more portable.SDG Systems LLC has announced that its BIP-6000 rugged mobile computer is now available with Android for the operating system. The computer has a QWERTY keyboard, 806MHz processor, and a 1D bar code scanner. The version of Android the device runs is 1.5 also known as cupcake.

Other features of the computer include a 3MP camera with flash, GSM voice service, HSDPA 3G data service, and a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 640. The machine meets MIL-STD-810F standards for drops, vibration, temperature, pressure, moisture, and exposure to sand and dust.
