Blu Studio 5.0 II and Advance 4.0 Android smartphones debut

Blu Products is a company that makes several unlocked Android-powered smartphones for users that are looking for a no contract device. The company has announced two new smartphones that both run Android Jelly Bean. The smartphones are the Studio 5.0 II and the Advance 4.0.

Both of the smartphones support multiple GSM and HSPA+ bands allowing them to work on several networks in North America. The Studio 5.0 II has a 5.0-inch IPS display with a native resolution of 480 x 854. The smartphone runs Android 4.2 and has a 5MP rear camera. The camera can record 720p video. The smartphone also has WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a FM radio tuner.

It uses a MediaTek MT6572 dual-core processor running at 1.3GHz and has 4GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot allows storage expansion. The Advance 4.0 has a 4-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800. It uses the same 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It also has a 5MP rear camera and runs Android 4.2.

The Advance 4.0 has WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and FM tuner. The smartphone has 4GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. Both smartphones pair their dual-core processors with 512MB of RAM. Networks supported include 2.5G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 3G (HSPA+ 21Mbps) 850/1700/1900. Those specs won't win any benchmarking wars, but these devices are surprisingly cheap. The unlocked Studio 5.0 II sells for $139 with the Advance 4.0 selling for $89.
