This is total nonsense! The reporter is only telling half the truth. The price reduction is due to slashing the minutes from 600 to 500 minutes so I don’t understand why all this bashing? Are they intentionally trying to make the BB10 a failure when the phone is so much better than the iPhone 5 or SG3. You got to get your hands on it to believe it!

iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3 has been on the market since last year, so it makes sense since those products are “old” and new products are about to be released. Galaxy 4 and iPhone 5S in the next several months. BB z10 was released at the end of Feb 2013.

If BB z10 are selling like hot cakes, why would retailers cut the prices?!! Retailers have no benefit in cutting prices for such a “hot” item.

Re – That’s a BB10 homerun, showing the massive initial Z10 sales wasn’t a tempory bump of Blackberry owners trading up, but Apple and Anrdoid owners buying in as well. With retailers looking to draw in traffic during desperate times, the proven success of BB10 may make them Blackberry regulars as well and set the stage for the (possibly) even more popular Q10 entry smartphone.

Also about a week ago the price of a z10 off contract was increased by about 35 dollars in the uk, more expensive than the iphone, yet that didn’t make it to the news. just saying

Yeah, those record sales are difficult to cope with…and those 100k apps, such a pain to manage.. and those 1000 apps a day being submitted to bb app world, such a headache.

2 weeks ago the price was raised 15% in the UK, last week it was raised 5% in Canada.

Can’t believe this BB bashing is still going on, it’s turned me off to so many media outlets…sorry to see slashgear joining these losers.

The prices were cut by 10% from retailers on contacts, not by BlackBerry. Both retailers also cut the prices of their I phone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 phones to a cheaper price than the blackberry. This is just blackberry bashing pure and simple.
