I'm in the US and mine is a personal phone. Of course, I do have it set up so that my work emails come through on it also. Most of the people that I know have a BB as a personal phone. I'm not sure what makes the market's so different.

Indeed, mostly the carrier's greedy 2 year contracts. At least Sprint is allowing its customers to upgrade after 1 year even with a 2 year contract as part of their Premier program for existing customers.
I got my Evo 1 year after my Pre with a 2 year contract.

No...I'll tell you why sells are down. They are coming out w/ newer versions of phones too fast. I bought the BOLD 9700 in Jan now the BOLD 9650 is already out. I would LOVE to have the Torch, but in order to be able to afford the phone I need to be able to use an upgrade, which since I got the 9700 in Jan is not available for 2 freakin years!!!! If the carriers would quit requiring you to wait 2 years before an upgrade was available then we could always get the newest versions that come out. Until then, sales are going to be down if they keep making a newer version every 6 mths.

I think 150K is good enough. You can't just expect to equal the iPhone's numbers with so little time of marketing and less fan base.
I still think it is still a step forward on RIM's road to the hip-smartphone/non-corporate race.
