If the previews, demos and leaks weren’t enough to convince you that RIM have a BlackBerry Storm 2 on the way, how about outright confirmation from Lowell C. McAdam, CEO of Verizon.  The exec has revealed that he’s been carrying the Storm 2 for the past few weeks, including giving impromptu demonstrations of the second-gen touchscreen smartphone at Verizon stores.

According to McAdam, he demonstrated the new device to some students shopping for a new handset.  ”I let them play with the second-generation Storm device,” he told reporters recently, “[and] they came back and said ‘Oh, my gosh.’ They were very excited. This is what they hoped the original Storm should be.”  While no release date for the Storm 2 has been revealed, RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie has suggested that the company will announced new social-networking integration with BlackBerry devices in November.
