I’m not sure how RIM is going to overcome the Apple marketing machine. The Playbook is at least as good if not better than any of the iPads. But Apple has been able to claim (albeit falsely) the mantle of tablet innovator. It’s going to be an uphill battle to get anything like the traction that the iPad has.

If you define success as requiring a writedown of less than $485m like the last one, then this tablet will be a success.

I would pick the playbook. I use mine every day for 14-16 hours per day. It is very reliable and i use excel and word on it. I am thinking about getting the projector for my PPT.

Personal choice, I prefer the Playbook to any other tablet available and will certainly upgrade to the 4G LTE version when it comes out. The upcoming BB10 is awesome – it will be a game changer for sure.
