I loved it back in the day, and mourned it’s passing… but I think he’s right. it was innovative but also impractical.
Modern Android (& windows) tablets can pretty much do everything Courier could do — except maybe fold in half.

Microsoft is Windows and windows computers are used in over 85% of the businesses in the USA when the courier team did not have a product that could interface well with windows desktop computer
or do outlook well you can bet your boots Bill Gates would damn it because when He was CEO he would hang employees who would want to produce products that would hurt Windows sales or not work well with windows. Microsoft is a business Enterprise company for instance the Microsoft surface
big screen flat screen computer was on the market 2 years before the Ipad was and could things the Ipad cannot do today but Microsoft was selling touch screen tech devices to big business instead the little guy if microsoft had taken some of the touch tech from the surface computer and put on a single touch screen tablet and sold it to the average person as Apple did Microsoft would not be in the position it is in today Microsoft it seems in the past never had the feel for how to sell tech to the average person. Apple on the other built devices for the average home consumer not the business Enterprise so it had to think about what the average person would like and could use Steve Jobs for all his faults had a good feel for how to make tech devices easy for the non Geeks to use.

Steve Jobs was right about Bill Gates. Bill Gates never understood class. He was a cheap programmer who ripped off others ideas. He is hence more comfortable with his philanthropy than doing the next best thing at Microsoft.

A limited windows tablet, not being able to run the bread and butter MS Apps wouldn’t have made the mark for a true Windows Tablet.
